My Platform

Good evening — I’m running for Scotland County commissioner because our community deserves leaders who fight for good jobs, strong schools, accessible healthcare, and safe streets.
First: economic recovery. When Saint Andrews closed, our county lost more than a campus — we lost jobs and momentum. I’ll lead a focused economic task force to bring new employers, support our small businesses with grants and streamlined permitting, and expand broadband so people can work from home or start online businesses. We’ll convert vacant campus space into a workforce training hub and small‑business incubator so Laurinburg becomes a place where opportunity grows.
Scotland County is resilient. With practical plans — not politics as usual — we can rebuild after Saint Andrews, create real opportunities, and make our county healthier, safer, and fairer. I ask for your vote so we can get to work together.
Second: our children. Schools must be fully staffed and well‑funded. I will push county resources toward counselors, nurses, and vocational pathways that connect students straight into apprenticeships and local careers — nursing, trades, ag‑tech, logistics. Early childhood programs, after‑school help, and clear facility plans mean every child here gets a fair shot.
Third: healthcare. Too many families drive far for basic care. I’ll pursue clinic partnerships, telehealth hubs, and funding to expand behavioral‑health and primary‑care services locally. We’ll strengthen EMS and bring sliding‑scale care and community health workers to the neighborhoods that need them most.
Fourth: safety and infrastructure. We’ll fix the roads that connect people to jobs and schools, upgrade stormwater and wastewater systems, and modernize 911 and EMS dispatch. I support community policing, strong training, and civilian oversight so public safety is both effective and trusted.
Accountability matters. I’ll set measurable targets, report progress quarterly, and keep citizen advisory groups involved every step of the way.
A FRESH VOICE.
A STRONG FUTURE.

From the barracks, to the classroom, to the department of corrections, I've built a career around, supporting and counseling people. I will bring that same commitment along with the promise of accountability, practical solutions, and respect for all.
